About this Talk
The building blocks of a satisfying plot are events--specifically, a series of events that challenge and transform your protagonist. As these events unfold, they reveal your characters, bring your settings to life, and illustrate your story's theme.
But a novel has a lot of moving parts, and it's easy to drop a thread, put a character in two places at once, or create a time paradox--A happens after B, but B can't happen without A. Pull one thread, and the whole tapestry can unravel.
In this session, you'll learn how to use two types of timelines to keep those plot events straight and make sure your story is well developed, balanced, and consistent.
